The author does not mention the name of his hometown of Kracie (Krats), Poland. It was obtained from the passenger manifest of the Steamship Rotterdam which arrived in New York on August 15, 1912. He is listed as Berl Feldman, age 18. He was the father of the renowned Rabbi Mendel Feldman (1919-2008) who led the Lubavitcher community in Baltimore for more than 50 years.
