    Raphael Isaacs's paternal grandfather was Rabbi Schachne Isaacs (1812-1887), originally Wartelsky, of Cincinnati. Click here for more details about him. His maternal grandfather was Rabbi Aaron Tzvi Friedman (died 1876), the author of Tuv Ta'am on sh'khita, which was printed in 1875 in New York.
