As of the launching of Project Zikaron, this work of rabbinical responsa by Rabbi Eliyahu Aharon Mileikowsky-Samunov (1860-1947) has not been digitized elsewhere. In addition, his nine-page description of his years of study in the yeshiva in Volozhin at the end of his book not been noted by scholars. Also of interest are his short biographies of his father, who was the rabbi of various communities in Kurland (now Latvia), and of his nephew, Rabbi Efrayim Samunov (1860-1932), who was married to the granddaughter of Rabbi Naftali Tsvi Yehuda Berlin (1816-1893), commonly known by the acronym Netsiv, who was the celebrated head of the yeshiva in Volozhin. Project Zikaron makes available many such unknown treasures. Click here for a photograph of the author.
