Project Zikaron includes numerous important works on Jewish history, including this volume which lists thousands of Jews who were murdered during the First Crusade in 1096 until the Black Death of 1349. Among the martyrs in 1298 in Nürnberg was Rabbi Mordechai son of Hillel, whose chief legal commentary on the Talmud is referred to as The Mordechai (see pp. 33 and 173. The martyrs are listed by their localities in present-day Germany, France, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Poland. Direct links to the exact page are provided for each locality.
