The author wrote this book about his father, Rabbi Meir Tobenhaus-Marcus (1865-1935), who was rabbi, journalist, and translator in Tsfat (Safed). Beginning on image 46 is an article by Rabbi Meir Tobenhaus-Marcus about the Maiden of Ludmir, Ḥanah Raḥel Verbermakher (1805–1888), who was the only independent female Rebbe in the history of Hasidism. This article is particularly significant because Rabbi Tobenhaus-Marcus personally knew her and even went to Ludmir to make further inquiries about her.
